Creepy! Lego unveils first-ever Haunted House set | Tech Culture - CNET News

The global toymaker says the new set, part of its Monster Fighters line, will be released in September. The set features a house and six ghoulish minifigures.

Available this September as part of the new LEGO Monster Fighters lineup, the highly detailed exterior will have classic haunted house features like, peeling paint/missing shingles, boarded up windows, and broken shutters and railings. Normally that would be more than enough, but LEGO has taken it even further. Once built, you can open the house via the hinged wall to reveal an interior that features a kitchen, bedroom and attic for your playing enjoyment.

Carnegie Mellon University researchers have developed "Posey," a new way of interacting with computers: plastic pieces are snapped together, an exact copy of the construction appears on a computer screen.

If you gave Lego brains, you might get something like Posey, a new hands-on way of interacting with computers developed at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, US.

When Posey's plastic pieces are snapped together, an exact copy of the construction appears on a computer screen. Every twist of, say, a stick figure's arm is mirrored in 3D modelling software.

Workers at a drinks stall fished the giant, smiling "LEGO" man from the sea in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort. They dragged the 2.5-metre (8-foot) tall model with a yellow head and blue torso from the sea and placed it in the sand, where crowds quickly gathered around it.
