University of Monaco MLUX -- Masters Degree in Luxury Goods and Services

University of Monaco Launching Luxury Degree

The University of Monaco, itself a playground for the wealthy, is launching a masters degree in luxury.

Starting this autumn, the course (which will be taught in English) has been developed in partnership with Gucci and Ralph Lauren. It will be open to 35 students per year.

'Degree in Gucci' to be launched

For anyone thinking that student life is about cheap beer and second-hand coats, a degree course is offering an immersion into indulgent luxury.

A masters degree is being launched this autumn in luxury retail management at the International University of Monaco.

Instead of draughty flats and sociology, students will learn about private jets, yachts and upmarket brands including Gucci.

With its luxurious length of 4.47 m, the Veyron is a perfectly balanced combination of high-powered performance and sleek, racy design.

Even at complete standstill, the car’s enormous power is made visible by its impressive mid-engine, elevated majestically beneath the chassis. Simultaneously, the Veyron’s bold proportions, well-balanced surfaces, and clear line structures give an impression of pure, sleek elegance.

Masterful Technology

With its 16-cylinder four-wheel drive, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 may well be the most sophisticated production vehicle of all times.
Most of the components tucked beneath its hood are ingenious innovations that were formerly only deemed possible by visionaries like Ferdinand Piƫch.

Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour, the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 1,001 HP, and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h, the Veyron only needs 270-280 HP.

Bling H2O -- Pure bling water

Pure bling water

A TV writer/producer named Kevin G. Boyd has had an inspiration: ultra-premium drinking water selling for a very, ahem, splashy price -- around $38 per 750-milliliter bottle. The water comes from the highly regarded English Mountain Spring source in Tennessee and goes through a nine-step purification process. And then it's packaged in glazed bottles hand-decorated with sparkly Swarovsky crystals.

The most expensive car in history

The Bugatti Type 41, better known as the Royale

The Royale has become legendary in 1991, when Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino’s Pizza, sold his Royale for US$8,000,000, which was actually less than the £5.7 million he purchased it for.

Dubai Underwater Hotel - The Hydropolis

clipped from www.goldarths.com

World's First Luxury Underwater Hotel, The Hydropolis, Opens This Month

The world’s first luxury underwater hotel will be inaugurated in Dubai this December. A £300 million, 220-suite hotel designed and developed by Joachim Hauser, the Hydropolis is located 20m beneath the surface of the Arabian Gulf near the scenic Jumeirah Beach coastline. This stretch of coastline, on which the Hyrdopolis resides, actually belongs to the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Unlike Jules' Underwater Lodge, which we featured in a recent entry, guests need not dive to reach this subaquatic retreat. Instead, they will be transported by trains via connecting tunnels to the Land Station.
